The Lebanese Management Association (LMA)
was founded in 1959 in Beirut by a group of professional managers. Its purpose is to promote and develop the management practices in Lebanon. LMA is a nonprofit, nonpolitical association bringing together representatives from all sectors of the economy, government, and business sectors in a constructive atmosphere.

Today, Lebanese Management Association's membership includes a large number of Lebanese enterprises as well as top executives of leading organizations.

The Lebanese Management Association is managed by a twelve member volunteer board representing a cross-section of the Lebanese business community. The Association is active in the field of management development and training in Lebanon.

The basic objectives of the Lebanese Management Association (LMA) are:

- To equip managers with the necessary knowledge and skills they need to draw upon in the future.
- To promote modern management principles and techniques, thus creating an awareness of professional    management in the Lebanese business sectors.
- To identify management practices which release the creative potential in individuals, lead to sound    interpersonal and group relations and effective patterns of participation within an organization.

The Lebanese Management Association's goal is to support the development of the profession of Management and as well as to improve the capabilities within the country of Project Management in Commerce, Trade, Industry and Technology.

To this end, the Association sponsors educational programs to improve Management skills, including organization theory, administration, management, financial planning, accounting, production, purchasing, marketing, human resource development, public relations and research.

In the past 48 years, LMA has attempted to establish itself as a leading association for Management in Lebanon. It is believed that it has succeeded remarkably in that respect .
